VIMANA GmbH has implemented a 4-step pragmatic and legally compliant solution, ONLINE, consisting of:

Level 1: Personality profile

The web-based version of the NEO-PI-R is used here. This questionnaire for measuring the five-factor model of personality, which is probably the most frequently used in research and clinical practice worldwide, is based on the results of decades of factor-analytical research with extensive population samples and clinical subject groups. With 240 items, the revised NEO Personality Inventory (NEO-PI-R) captures the main areas of inter-individual personality differences. The inventory thus enables a comprehensive and detailed description of personality. We will be happy to provide you with a sample report. The individual report is part of the assessment documentation.

Level 2: Cognitive skills

Also web-based and using image authentication to verify that the test person matches the person booked, 6 VIMANA GmbH inventories are used here to assess the areas of “basic mental abilities” (memory capacity, speed and accuracy of information processing, spatial abilities (static), reasoning (information processing with basic figures), logic abilities, long-term concentration) proposed in the IATA Testing Guide. These abilities are also assessed in line with the IATA Grading Scale and are part of the assessment documentation.

Stage 3: Simulator screening

At this point (or at level 4), a simulator screening is recommended to check composite mental abilities, operational abilities and, in part, social-interpersonal abilities. This screening is normally the responsibility of the client. VIMANA GmbH is happy to provide support in planning, assessment or even implementation

Stage 4: Interview

Also taking place online and therefore independent of location, we conduct an interview (or supervised) by an aviation psychologist to evaluate further personality factors and assess social components, if possible. In addition, technical understanding and aeronautical knowledge are tested at this stage. English language skills are also tested by a language examiner. This interview should be accompanied by a representative of the host airline to determine company compatibility. The interview may be recorded in whole or in part with the consent of the parties. A short report, together with the rating scales, is included in the assessment documentation. However, the transcript of the recording of the candidate’s interview remains with VIMANA GmbH.
